Figure 2 shows how a very tiny portion of the entire electorate identifies themselves as liberal or extremely liberal, while the vast majority describe themselves as moderate. Republicans have a larger ideological base from which to start (conservative and extremely conservative), although moderates are by far the largest chunk of American voters.

It will fall flat on its face if people do what Michael Moore wants them to do: abandon the voting booth. The T Party succeeded because they voted all those obstructionist Republicans into the House of Representatives in 2010, not because the T Party is popular with the people. They are not. The Occupy Movement has support of the people (>50%), but it will be all for nothing if they don’t vote out the rascals that cut taxes for the rich and cut programs for the poor.
