This woman was riding her motorized scooter outside of Comerica Park before Game One of the 2006 MLB World Series. Being as it was election season, it was somewhat appropriate. The first sentiment can no longer happen but the second one is still possible (whether that’s good or bad is up to you). I wonder if her Republican opposite will be in the red state of Missouri for Game Three.

The Cards win the serires – (a division of things to come)
Pauls: That was the series you should have won in 2004 (but thankfully didn’t since I’m a Red Sox fan as well because I spent my summers in Boston and winters in Detroit as a kid) to even out history. Don’t count on a third World Series in four years.
And as far as the Republicans go – I wouldn’t hold your breath about them taking the House as the Democrats are up 228 to 206 in overall aggregate which is rarely wrong (the only question being the margin) though they will keep the Senate probably 51 to 49. Hello Olympia Snowe, the most powerful woman in Washington as the swing vote.
Not to worry – I don’t hold my breath for political purposes anyway. I didn’t count on a world series this year, but someone had to win it.

Poor old lady, she still thinks the democrats are like the old southern democrats. Isn’t it ironic that the Republican party was for freeing the slaves. What you have is ignorant youth and an elderly population that is out of touch. Yeah mikey, go socialism. :/
It’s not ironic at all that the Republican Party was for freeing the slaves. Unfortunately, all of those voting blocks that were for freeing the slaves like the northeastern elite, and the midwestern populists are all Democrats. Lincoln Chaffee was the last Republican in the Senate who would have been a Republican in 1861. The Southern Democrats of 1861 – the large farmers, the backwater unemployed, are now almost completely Republicans.
The ignorance is actually on the part of people like you who believe the history Fox News tells you that has absolutely 0 base in the demographic realities of the Republican Party of 150 years ago and now. Most people in the country are actually able to see through it if they haven’t been brainwashed.
