Bill Maher nails it! Lewis Black was also spot on when he said that the “Republicans are the party of bad ideas, and the Democrats are the party of no ideas!”
@bcbobbie Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, and Bernie Sanders. The only 3 politicians I have seen that still represents the people and will speak out. Despite their ideology differences, they are politicians who can compromise with other parties without screwing over the people.
Some people call Sanders a socialist, but we never defined socialism in the U.S. We also need a socialist party in the government so we have balanced options to a hybridized economy capable of surviving.
Ron is the only politician who wants to end the Corporate Control over Washington. That power structure is the reason you do not have true representation. I imagine that on the other side, his friend Kucinech would want the same thing- but I have only heard Ron Paul advocate this.
The sad thing is: all of us outside US already knows this.
USA needs more people like Bill Maher.
Obama is more like Bush than we could ever imagine . In fact he has increased the military budget 15% , single handedly took single payer health care off the market , and pretended to kill OBL , who died in 2002 of renal failure . He is a corporate puppet who pardoned every action of BP after the spill and gave Halliburton more money . What else must he do ? Blow John McCain ? He is a Republican in every way .
so unbelievably true. i love how all the right-wing neocon’s are angry by this. It’s widely known that obama’s health care plan is one of the progressive centre, not on the left, or even centre-left, and especially not on the far-left. Kucinich is the only real lefty i’ve seen in the democrats, john edwards isn’t bad either, but obama is a centre-right, but social liberal. Unlike the crazy religious right that love the big corporations and not the true working americans…
The current MAXIMUM payout for Social Security is $23,000 PER YEAR. The price of a B1 Bomber when Prez. RayGun brought it back from defeat was $1,000,000,000 PER PLANE. Yes, ONE plane would pay Soc. Sec. for nearly 50,000 veterans of the WWII era for 1 year.
The B1 Bomber sux (2 bombs) could not deploy to Iraq, they flew it round trip from home base Missouri to Iraq then back (nrly 20 hrs + re-fuels), fixed it when it got back. Plane is a dud and just ONE example of Pentagon waste and fraud.
Bill Maher, what a Giftzwerg. This Turk thing is pulling so much unsourced bullshit out of his ass it’s laughable. Oh and Airman04061969 what the fuck are you?
oh man, black people are the worst!
@Airman04061969 ahhhh glen beck is probably ranting in your dreams too.you are a typical paranoid rightwing nutsack. and actually you can thank the liberals/socialists for most of the rights you enjoy RIGHT NOW. and before you say “my rights come from the constitution” or from my creator, let me remind you that we had SLAVERY and slave labor for most, workers in this country UNTIL leftist activists changed things. the left is always on the right side of history for progress. You are not
@Airman04061969 everything you described was done by Bush and Republicans; it’s the right wing that risks turning the USA into corporatist state, not a communist one;
as for the healthcare: there already are certain socialist programs: roads, education, firemen, police etc.
healthcare should be one of them; taking care of your health should be free
@bbphnix Oh, yeah ? You really think so, buddy ? That shifting american politics to the left somehow is gonna turn the US into the USSR is paranoia ? Well, you just wait and see what happens. Bailout(s) were the most communist act I had ever seen. Take the money from the savers and turn them to spenders. I mean, what’s next ? Nationalizing all companies ? And that Healthcare plan is what ? Nationalization of the healthcare system ? See you in five years ! “Be well, comrade !” LOL
Cutting defense and increasing gun control is what Bill advocates. And all the audience is concerned about is getting their legalized pot. To each his own, but this show, Bills dream party and it’s followers are frivolous and naive.
Democrats and Republicans at all levels of government need to be forced to dig their own graves, then we assassinate them, and then leave their bodies in the open graves to rot. Oh, and yes, stick an American flag on the corpses since the dumbasses who voted for them like to perch flags on top of rubble after a disaster.
@mh240bravo I know; it’s terrible; the US s a mockery of capitalism and the citizens are at a real threat of enduring life under a non-democracy; glad to see you are aware;
@bbphnix The United States has a system that exclusively supports corporations that already exist (and usually enormous). This is a bastardization of capitalism. In reality, many of these corporations are quasi-governments themselves.
@Unclelrv – Regulation is working pretty sweet here in Australia, it hasn’t lead to Corporatism at all.
@bbphnix
“Capitalism can turn in to corporatism and corruption, by buying the politicians”
YES, OF COURSE. But it is absurd to blame that result on CAPITALISM. That’s like saying “Banks can lead to bank robberies…therefore let’s ban all banks.”
The antidote against Corporatism is not Liberalism, but strict separation between government and corporations—exactly what the Tea Party is fighting for. In America, Liberalism = “regulation” and “regulation” = the enablement of Corporatism.
@UncleIrv Capitalism can turn in to corporatism and corruption, by buying the politicians;
it’s what is happening in the US
@bbphnix
You know not of what you speak.
First, Sweden and Norway are only SOCIALLY liberal. Economically, they are very Free Market. If THEY want to spend exorbitant amounts on social welfare, goody for them. But their situation is not comparable to the US, in that they have certain CULTURAL strengths which have thus far insulated them from negative consequences. Talk to me in 20 years.
How can freedom “destroy freedom”? “Capitalism” is nothing more than Freedom of Contract.
@UncleIrv
a government similar to Sweden and Norway the two countries with the highest development index in the whole world, should be slowly implemented in ALL countries, because it is clearly more advantageous; your ultra-capitalist system is what is going to destroy freedom in America;
@UncleIrv he companies are going to take advantage of the average citizen and make their life worse NOT better; you see this in how your politicians are bought, how defense spending is out of control, how US citizens don’t have a proper healthcare system, how the gap between rich and poor is growing etc.
@UncleIrv dude, you’re exactly the stereotypical brainwashed american; the best governmental system invented so far is center government between left – socialist – and right -capitalist; NOT communism, which clearly failed 20 years ago, and NOT a total free market, which is eating away at the USA;
you think Europe has it BAD because it is more socialist than the US? what a JOKE! a total free market, with NO regulations leads to ABUSE! t
@AngeCord yes, but in such a system, it is not the party with the majority of votes that gets all the power, but all the different parties have a say depending on…. well, I don’t really know the details of how the Swedish government works, but I assume any party that gets a non-negligible amount of votes ends up in the parliament and government in a manner proportional to the number of votes; so they all have a say; right? another question: that’s how all of EU is like right?
