Question by Lever: Do you agree with Karl Rove or Christine O’Donnell when it comes to the “lesson of 2010″?
Karl Rove said:

““It gave me no pleasure to say that she was unlikely to win,” he said. “But this again provides a lesson. This is a candidate who was right on the issues, but who had mishandled a series of questions brought up by the press.”

Christine O’Donnell said:

“The full weight of the White House, DNC, DSCC, and Delaware Democratic Party were brought in to secure this seat to further the liberal agenda. It’s disheartening that we did not have the same support of the Delaware Republican Party and NRSC.

“The lesson to be learned is that once the voters have spoken and chosen their candidate for the primary, the party leaders should follow Reagan’s 11th commandment and unite towards victory. Had this been done by the State GOP this would have unified the party and allowed the process to immediately move ahead full force,” stated O’Donnell on Wednesday morning.”

Best answer:

Answer by Moo
Karl (who I think is a total bastard) is closer to the truth. The reality is, she didn’t represent the Delaware voters interests, plain and simple. Delaware is a state that is moderate and respects Obama and Biden, even though they might not like everything about them, and she ran her race like foaming at the mouth tea party idiot. If she were moderate, or if she ran in Wyoming, she might have had a slim chance.

She rallied her base to win the primary, and never changed her tune for the broader electorate. And it is a valuable lesson: for the GOP in the 2012 Presidential election. The tea party may well be their undoing.

What do you think? Answer below!

Note: A typo in one of the titles on this video says 2009 rather than 2010 – sorry. The issue of gun rights arose in the Republican pre-primary debates of May 2010 for the California governorship and the US Senate seat held by Sen. Barbara Boxer. In the US Senate race, the issue of gun rights for individuals on the federal no-fly list arose. In the gubernatorial race, the issue of a propose limit on “open carry” rights arose. In this clip we see the gun-related sections of both debates. US Senate candidates were Tom Campbell, Chuck DeVore, and Carly Fiorina. Gubernatorial candidates are Steve Poizner and Meg Whitman. Note: The Democratic side in both races had essentially no contests so there were no debates.
The 2010 elections were one of the most highly anticipated midterm elections in our nation's recent history. After the historic 2008 election, in which America elected its first black president, Sarah Palin's involvement and the emergence of the Tea Party in the 2010 congressional elections had the potential to transform the composition of congress and set the stage for the nation's politics for the next decade, or even the next generation.
Missouri’s open US Senate seat now has two contenders. Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt announced on Thursday he would run for Senate in 2010. He joins Democratic Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, who said earlier this month she would run. Congressman Roy Blunt started his statewide tour announcing his candidacy for US Senate at Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis. He says he’s running for Senator Kit Bond’s open seat because the fight is in the Senate. “The truth is at 41 votes in the Senate, it’s the last thing that separates America from absolute one party rule,” Blunt said. He says the election for Bond’s open seat that is still 20 months away is an important one for the Republican Party. He thinks he’s the right man for the job too. “I approached this from the view it’s so important to win this seat that I’m for the very best candidate that can win this seat, unless it’s me, then I want to think about it. We came to view it is me, and I thought about it and decided to do it,” Blunt said. Blunt supporters at Harris Stowe State University for his announcement agree. “He has shown his leadership ability in House. He’s a respected Congressman in Washington, and I feel he would be more effective,” Sharon Barnes said. Blunt promises he will keep fighting the fight in Washington he has been the past twelve years. “On issues of health care, tax policy, energy policy, and national defense I’ve been leading the fight,” Blunt said. After serving as majority whip …
