Note: A typo in one of the titles on this video says 2009 rather than 2010 – sorry. The issue of gun rights arose in the Republican pre-primary debates of May 2010 for the California governorship and the US Senate seat held by Sen. Barbara Boxer. In the US Senate race, the issue of gun rights for individuals on the federal no-fly list arose. In the gubernatorial race, the issue of a propose limit on “open carry” rights arose. In this clip we see the gun-related sections of both debates. US Senate candidates were Tom Campbell, Chuck DeVore, and Carly Fiorina. Gubernatorial candidates are Steve Poizner and Meg Whitman. Note: The Democratic side in both races had essentially no contests so there were no debates.

Key States, High Stakes: Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, and the 2010 Elections

The 2010 elections were one of the most highly anticipated midterm elections in our nation's recent history. After the historic 2008 election, in which America elected its first black president, Sarah Palin's involvement and the emergence of the Tea Party in the 2010 congressional elections had the potential to transform the composition of congress and set the stage for the nation's politics for the next decade, or even the next generation. In this new edited volume, Charles S. Bullock III col

Missouri’s open US Senate seat now has two contenders. Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt announced on Thursday he would run for Senate in 2010. He joins Democratic Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, who said earlier this month she would run. Congressman Roy Blunt started his statewide tour announcing his candidacy for US Senate at Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis. He says he’s running for Senator Kit Bond’s open seat because the fight is in the Senate. “The truth is at 41 votes in the Senate, it’s the last thing that separates America from absolute one party rule,” Blunt said. He says the election for Bond’s open seat that is still 20 months away is an important one for the Republican Party. He thinks he’s the right man for the job too. “I approached this from the view it’s so important to win this seat that I’m for the very best candidate that can win this seat, unless it’s me, then I want to think about it. We came to view it is me, and I thought about it and decided to do it,” Blunt said. Blunt supporters at Harris Stowe State University for his announcement agree. “He has shown his leadership ability in House. He’s a respected Congressman in Washington, and I feel he would be more effective,” Sharon Barnes said. Blunt promises he will keep fighting the fight in Washington he has been the past twelve years. “On issues of health care, tax policy, energy policy, and national defense I’ve been leading the fight,” Blunt said. Question by kincaid1: Democrats 2010 Campaign “warns” America that Republicans will repeal Health Care Bill if elected?
Do they really think that’s a smart campaign to run with? If I were a Democrat who was running in 2010, I would try to keep this information out of the news.

PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS VIDEO. On Thursday, April 15, Tea Partiers from around the country gathered in the nation’s capital to protest what they percieved to be egregious increases in taxation under the Obama administration, despite taxes having actually been lowered for 98% of working Americans. The usual anti-science and nativist rhetoric, and praise of Fox News personalities, ensued. This NEW LEFT MEDIA film was produced and edited by Chase Whiteside (interviewer) and Erick Stoll (camera operator) with additional camera work from Kasey Hosp. We apologize for the poor sound quality and shortage of sunlight, the event was held late and music –this was something of a Tea Party Woodstock–was playing throughout. New York, NY (PRWEB) November 2, 2010

As the often rancorous midterm election season draws to a close, pundits from across the political spectrum are ?reading the tea leaves? trying to predict the outcome of election day. Down to the last minute, the debate continues to be lively at Predicto Mobile, where members cast votes on a variety of topics via text messages. With over a million members and dozens of new hot-button polls each week, Predicto.com has established itself as a prime destination to reference statistics and public opinion. At last count, 52% of Predicto voters believe that the Republicans will hold the majority in the Senate.

This year has seen a lot of unprecedented political theater, including Glenn Beck?s much hyped rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Throughout election season, poll after poll has indicated that the electorate is moving increasingly towards the Republicans. This trend cast a lot of doubt on the success of the counter rally a few days ago by liberal comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, but Predicto voters correctly predicted a massive turn out for the Progressive gathering.

While it may be too soon to officially certify Tuesday?s winners, Predicto?s poll results have been accurate in the past. Earlier this electoral season, 63% of Predicto voters anticipated Tea Party candidates making it to the official ballot. This shows a clear understanding of the new direction in America?s political landscape, as today dozens of Tea Party candidates can be found in House, Senate and Governors races throughout the nation. In Florida, for instance, Marco Rubio is the heavy favorite in the three-man Senate race, and in Nevada it?s possible that Sharron Angle could even unseat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

That said, Predicto voters are not anticipating great results for all Tea Party candidates. Christine O’Donnell has been in a much publicized race for Vice President Joe Biden?s vacant Senate seat. The Delaware candidate?s campaign has been repeatedly distracted and taken off message when controversial and at times absurdist remarks from her past surfaced. Predicto voters believe she has too much to overcome ? 65% predict a victory for Democrat Chris Coons. One voter at Predicto.com may have summed it up best: ?I don’t think there is any way she will win.?

Sarah Palin has certainly put her mark on this year?s elections. Through appearances, interviews, Facebook posts, Tweets and robocalls, she has been an active and vocal supporter of conservative candidates. The former Governor has kept herself in the spotlight as a contributor to the Fox News Channel and is set to star in ?Sarah Palin’s Alaska? for the Discovery Channel. With an eye toward the next political season, 68% of Predicto voters believe that Sarah Palin is positioning herself for a 2012 Presidential bid.
